The Walkers have been tough on left-handed pitching all season, and that trend continued on this evening versus Malibu's Jeremy Sowers. Fleetwood plated 7 runs in the game's first 5 innings, highlighted by homers from Chris Iannetta and David Wright.
Entering the 6th inning, the Walkers held a comfortable 7-2 lead. With one out, though, Pedro Feliz drew a rare walk off Fleetwood's Ervin Santana. Hideki Matsui followed with a walk of his own. Santana then hung a breaking ball to the powerful Mike Napoli, who crushed it for a 3-run home run. The game was suddenly a close one at 7-5.

David Wright left the yard and had 2 RBI as the Fleetwood Walkers outscored
the Malibu Flames 9 to 5.
Malibu fell behind quickly as the Fleetwood offense came through in the first
inning scoring a single run using 2 hits. Asdrubal Cabrera doubled. Nick
Markakis stepped into the batter's box and he stroked a single. B.J. Ryan
pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 7th save.
The victory was credited to Ervin Santana(7-3) who went 7 and 1/3 innings,
