June 4, 2006: Dragoon Slayer

David Bush kicked off Fleetwood's June home schedule in style, throwing 7.1 scoreless innings against the Charm City Dragoons. Afer Scott Downs added 1.2 perfect innings of his own, the Walkers had earned their 7th shutout victory of the season.

This game continued Bush's up-and-down season as he had previously lasted just 2.2 innings in his last start, giving up 5 earned runs in the process. That said, his strong effort today lowered his season ERA from 4.53 to 4.03.

Also starring for Fleetwood were David Wright (4 for 5) and Miguel Cabrera (2-5, 2B, HR). Tomorrow's matchup would feature the struggling Mark Buehrle for Fleetwood versus John Halama for Charm City.
